sore legs
January 30, 2012
last week we got the last two rafters bolted together and in place. yesterday we made bolts to bolt the rafters to the ridge pole and the top plate. today we started to bolting them down. my legs are really sore from hanging on while i drill holes and tighten bolts. i need to relax a little more while i'm up there.

four wheeler
January 22, 2012
we got the two middle rafters bolted together and in palce plus we got the last two rafters pulled up and strapped down. the intersting thing that happened today was my older brother pulled up on his four wheeler and seen us pulling on a rope. he said what you can't tie that rope to the four wheeler. i said we sure can and we pulled the last rafter up with his honda no problem.

January 15, 2012
got the two rafters in place today and drug another one half way up. it rolled over just right when it got to the top plate and went over the top plate just perfectly. nothing i did God must have sent his angel. my older brother came by to check on progess because i'd asked him last night if he had seen my rafters. when he showed up he said that's all i thought you had them all up. it's supposed to rain tomarrow i hope not.

failure
January 8, 2012
last week i got the ridge pole up and spiked. i also cut six rafters and peeled them deciding to use trees instead of i beams because of price. so far so good but today i failed three times to raise the first rafter. we came up with a plan and got the first rafter half way up. tomarrow we'll try to finish the first rafter and get another one done. tonight it started to rain. we'll see about tomarrow.

rp ready
December 28, 2011
sunday and monday it was raining and i tried to work on the house, but it was to slick and dangerous. today we got both brackets up for raising the rp and the two rpsl's cut to the proper height. normaly you'd cut them diffrent lengths on the groud based on the diameter of the rp. i had origanily planed on have no rp, but my dad talked me into using one. so i had to cut them in the air. i built strap on pegs and got a sling for a belt. climbed to the top and leaned back in the belt and cut the poles. hope i never have to do that again.

ridge pole
December 19, 2011
yesterday we got the last rpsl standing up and went into the woods and cut down a ridge pole, drug it up and peeled it. today we got all three rpsl's lined up and bolted to the wall. i used a corded drill instead of a bit brace because of the dangerous spot the bit brace would have put me in. lastly the family and i got the rp up onto the porch. in other news my twin brother has suddenly taken an intrest in my home. offering to pay for the metal in the roof and looking for metal.
